FAQ's

Yes, studies have shown that movement and play are
very important for a child's physical and mental
development.  Weather permitting, we will be
outside every day so it is necessary that children
come prepared with hats, mittens, boots, etc. when
needed.  Snow pants can be left in the lockers for
the cold weather months.  We also encourage girls
to wear shorts under their jumpers so they can be
active on the playground.

We plan our language arts activities in the morning
when the children are fresh.  We have religion, reading groups, grammar, spelling, and group reading before lunch.
In the afternoon we cover math, writing, and social studies or
science. Most Fridays we will have group
center time to work on cooperation, negotiation, and
problem solving skills.

You are welcome to bring in a treat to celebrate
your child's birthday.  We encourage healthy snacks.

Homework will be assigned almost daily.  Please
check the assignment notebooks each night and initial it before returning it to school the next morning.
If your child has homework specific to him/her, it
may not be listed in the notebook.  Please also
check their take home folder every day for papers that need to be corrected.
